It's been about a week since my last post and that's because I've been a bit busy with school. Finally, finally, I am off for the summer, now I can devote all of my time to blogging and playing dress up and watching movies on Netflix. Basically, the excitement of my life is lived vicariously through the adventures of heroines in novels and romantic comedies; it's pretty bizarre to wake up one day with the realization that I have become a homebody, when it was only months before that my life essentially revolved around going to shows and house parties. I'm not sure if this is a sign of maturity or introversion, only time will tell.
Getting dressed today, I was going for more comfort than cool, and ended up in a pair of fishnets with nothing to put over them. Outfits are funny in how they can be built from the bottom up; you wake up in the morning know that you want to wear a cool pair of socks or a comfortable sweater without knowing exactly what else is going to go with it. In the end, I decided to partner my stocking with this fun denim jumpsuit that I got at Goodwill ages ago. It's weird to realize how I used to shop at thrift stores because my family was poor and now secondhand shopping is the epitome of cool.

Overalls seem to be another trend cropping up all over the web this summer, with many a blogger opting for the oversized "boyfriend" cut. Denim has always been the staple fabric of the season, but I really love the all-in-one aesthetic of overalls and jumpsuits. My denim one piece came to me by chance, about two years ago at Goodwill. I can't even tell you what attracted me to it, but I knew I needed to own it for my own--still probably the best 5 dollars I've ever spent. There's something sexy and casual about this piece that I absolutely adore.
